When we get older we have different problems, maybe we need dental implants in Mexico or other types of dental treatments, which are problems that we try to solve immediately because they can affect our diet or other parts of our body.

But what if the health problem they have is not as severe as others? Older adults tend to develop seborrhea, especially on the scalp and face. Seborrheic dermatitis or seborrhea is a type of skin disease characterized by inflammation of the scalp or face, along with the appearance of a scaly layer on the surface of the skin. It usually affects the areas of the skin in contact with the various glands present in our body. Actually, it is a more serious case of skin eczema, and itching is usually experienced in the affected area, which causes more inflammation and redness in the affected area.

Some people who have weakened immune systems, such as those in chemotherapy, those with HIV disease, or specific neurological disorders, may have severe seborrhea. It is important to note, however, that seborrheic dermatitis is a very common condition, affecting perhaps 5% of the population (it predominates in men). And the vast majority of people who have it are completely healthy and have no internal or immunological problems.

Although the term seborrheic dermatitis is also used in place of dandruff, due to the similarity of the nature of these skin disorders, both can be distinguished in medical terms. A person suffering from seborrheic dermatitis has excessively oily skin, with a growth of scaly scales and redness of the affected area, the problem of dandruff persists only in the scalp (seborrhea capitis), however, seborrheic dermatitis can affect any part of the skin. Thus, this disease can be of various types, based on its location; seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp, forehead, face, chest, nose, ears, eyelids, or chest.

Dermatitis is a common condition that is usually not fatal or contagious. Even so, you may feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. A combination of personal care measures and medications can help treat dermatitis. This does not have to take the league, and you have to go with a specialist as a dermatologist so that the person can have a better quality of life and end the discomfort.
